Identity Review | Global Tech Think Tank
Keep up with the digital identity landscape.
Telkomsel, an operator of cellular telecommunications services in Indonesia, recently announced that it had selected digital identity provider ForgeRock to deploy the ForgeRock Identity Platform in an effort to streamline identity management across web, mobile and multiple applications during its cloud migration. As a major push toward digital readiness, Telkomsel saw a need for a comprehensive identity management system after recognizing that its customers desired seamless experiences and digital services.
Telkoseml hopes to upgrade its MyTelkomsel app and migrate entirely to a cloud-based infrastructure. The solution needed to support 200 million identities and process seven thousand transactions per second, the company says. ForgeRock was chosen for its flexibility to work in hybrid environments, and Telkoseml hopes to migrate entirely to a cloud-based infrastructure.
According to Telkomsel CIO Pak Bharat Alva, “Our partnership with ForgeRock is one of the building blocks to digital transformation initiatives for Telkomsel. The large scale and quick time to market requirements being one of the main reasons for Telkomsel to partner with ForgeRock.”
Telkomsel’s implementation of ForgeRock’s platform assists the company in centralizing identity management across its network and powers the creation of a new digital ecosystem of mobile, web and third-party applications for seamless customer experience. This solution enables customers to use the same identity across multiple applications and devices, including the MyTelkomsel app and online portal. This lets the telecom’s customers manage their own identity and access and helps to reduce the workload of Telkomsel’s IT administrators.
“ForgeRock’s focus on customer success and involvement throughout the project duration is highly appreciated by Telkomsel and is one of the key reasons for successful implementation of the CIAM platform,” said Pak Rudy Jayadi, Telkomsel VP IT Digital Enablement. This implementation will enable Telkomsel to deliver more innovations to delight our customers’ experience in digital services.”
Back in February, ForgeRock became a member of the Identity Defined Security Alliance (ISDA), an industry alliance that provides the framework and guidance to help organizations integrate identity into their security strategy. By establishing a partnership with ForgeRock, Telkomsel hopes to accelerate the company’s digital footprint and provide a pleasant experience for its customers through an expanded ecosystem and additional capabilities.
