Sontiq Releases RepIQ Feature to Protect Personal Brands - Identity Review | Global Tech Think Tank - Identity Review | Global Tech Think Tank

Recently, Sontiq, an intelligent identity security company, announced a new feature to their Sontiq Intelligent Identity Security (IIS) platform—RepIQ. The goal with this feature is to allow users to better understand the impact their digital reputation may have on different aspects of their life.

Sontiq’s executive vice president of products and strategy, Rochelle Blease, explained in a press release the company’s motivations in developing RepIQ: “Individuals today must be critically attuned to the total picture of their constantly-changing digital identity health. While cyber threats like identity theft pose an immediate financial threat, online reputation and personal brands carry hefty lifetime value that must also be continually guarded. There can be serious career, social, financial and academic implications of a misaligned online image.”

The Features and How They Work

This new feature leverages an artificial intelligence identity and reputation engine that develops a score to report a user’s digital reputation. The user can fine-tune the score to emphasize whichever features they feel are most important. These features include openness, conscientiousness, extroversion, agreeableness and neuroticism.

To develop this score, RepIQ recurrently monitors and analyzes a user’s social media channels to assess key sentiments. In general, the score accounts for the length and volume of social interactions, the number of comments and interactions across posts, and whether those responding are reputable. RepIQ also reports the scoring of key characteristics deemed most important for a user’s particular profession. The feature also then provides the user guidance on how to achieve their desired reputation score, using the information it has collected.

Mary Kate Feeney, a professional who has dedicated her career to helping manage the reputation of public servants, emphasized why RepIQ is so important moving forward: “Social media, news sites and other online sources are now a big part of the way people form opinions about you. With the reputation management capability consistently scanning the internet for my online presence, I feel like I have much greater control over putting forward the best and most accurate impression to the people interested in connecting with me.”

The RepIQ Future and Release

RepIQ is set to launch in the second quarter of 2021. When released, it will be accessible to partners, organizations and consumers of the Sontiq IIS platform. This feature will be an important addition to the company’s current collection of ID protection, mobile security and identity restoration offerings. In the future, the company hopes to further develop this feature by including highlights of recent noteworthy activity, such as college evaluations or acceptance, academic milestones, and job changes or promotions.
