NFT platform OpenSea has notified users that a data breach has occurred. The scale and extent of the breach is unknown. Users are reporting mass phishing attacks, targeted to their personal email and inboxes. At this time, it appears the malicious actors are using spoofed OpenSea urls to steal users funds.
Separately, thousands of BoredApe NFT holders have received emails that their apes have been delisted. While it is unclear if this is related to the data breach, it does appear that Bored Ape Yacht Club NFTs have been removed from OpenSea. Yuga Labs, the company behind the collection, has reported they are in contact with OpenSea.
Users of OpenSea should be aware of developing updates from official OpenSea accounts and stay vigilant towards phishing attacks. If you have any more information, please email team@identityreview.com.
