IdRamp Offers Decentralized Identity Platform Using the Indicio Network - Identity Review - Identity Review | Global Tech Think Tank

Iowa-based decentralized identity provider IdRamp announced last week that it now offers market-ready solutions, including its decentralized identity platform, that leverage the Indicio Network from Indicio.tech. The decentralized network for identity was released last July to help companies design, build and bring decentralized identity products to market quickly, and was launched with the help of IdRamp’s server space, ongoing governance contributions and community leadership.

With support from the network, IdRamp will continue to offer its enterprise and government customers with digital wallets via the Passport mobile application as well as onboarding services with the IdRamp Service Delivery Platform. Given the complexity of an evergrowing collection of disconnected protocols, standards, regulations and technologies, IdRamp’s services aim to streamline business processes by removing centralized data and allowing businesses to focus on their business rather than managing technology.

Decentralized Identity for Businesses

The IdRamp platform allows businesses to manage all identity providers that they use in one location. This means that users can issue verifiable credentials from any data sources, combine multi-factor, social and bring-your-own identity providers to invent new customer experiences, and extend capabilities into other applications with APIs and integrations.

Since the platform exists with the main goal of making decentralized identity easily accessible and usable for business, it streamlines many backend business processes in a variety of ways. For example, businesses can layer KYC, MFA, IGA, biometrics or any third party service within the authentication experience, and can also use attribute based access control (ABAC) to regulate internal entitlement and policies.

Furthermore, IdRamp’s platform allows businesses to measure service or IDP usage over multiple time periods and audits analytics data for security compliance and risk assessment. The platform can monitor license consumption for cost management and reconciliation, and also offers the ability to export analytics data into any visualization tool or data stack.

“Part of what adds value to our customers is quick and easy integration into their various legacy ecosystems,” says Mike Vesey, CEO of IdRamp. “Without having to lift and shift anything, businesses and organizations of all shapes and sizes can use decentralized identity to improve user experience by eliminating any need for passwords, increasing privacy by removing the need to share personal data with 3rd party services like Twitter or Facebook, and improving data protection by not storing personal data in central databases. This reduces cost by reducing investments in monolithic identity platforms. Having an enterprise grade network to deliver decentralized services for our customers is critical.”

Collaboration for Simplification

As a decentralized identity company, IdRamp offers a service delivery platform that helps businesses manage verifiable credentials and identity integration within diverse application ecosystems. The company combines verifiable credentials with well-known identity management capabilities for MFA, consents, access rules, directory integration and analytics, meaning that businesses can use IdRamp’s services to create trust ecosystems without complex upgrades or specialized technical skills.

IdRamp’s partner Indicio.tech is a professional services firm specializing in decentralized identity architecture, engineering, and consultancy. The company provides guidance on the use of verifiable credentials to build digital identity solutions and aims to make verifiable credentials easy to adopt, simple to deploy, and reliable to use.

Together, Indicio.tech and IdRamp are working together to make decentralized identity accessible for companies to implement.

“IdRamp and Indicio are helping to grow a community focused on delivering decentralized identity solutions that will drive adoption of this empowering technology,” says Karl Kneis, COO of IdRamp. “Now IdRamp can provide a suite of simple-to-use, professional grade tools and services, all connected to a state-of-the-art network. This community effort will drive our solutions to scale management of verifiable credentials at the speed our customers need. Decentralized identity is new, but it is the most secure and trustworthy means of data sharing yet devised. Now it’s also easy to use.”
